This Dahl shield is Indian, 18 C. or earlier, very well made from two parts forge welded together In a very professional manner so one can hardly see the welding from the outer surface. It is 14 inches in diameter, very finely chiseled all around with various battle scenes and eight panels of beautifully performed inscriptions in decorative Arabic letters. Four central bosses. Very good condition. The two components construction suggest an early date.
