Up for sale is this Persian battle axe, Qajar period, second half of the 19 C. Lunette shaped blade of good steel 7 inches long, 5 inches wide, very finely etched and decorated with gold koftgari inlay. Rear side hammer. Steel haft with three spirally twisted sectors. Gold koftgari decoration. Total length 29 ½ inches. Very good condition. Losses to the gold inlay on the haft.
