This Qama short sword is Turkish, mid 19 C. The blade is massive, 15 inches long 2 inches wide with off centered. The massive grips are walrus with steel rosettes with traces of gold decoration. Original scabbard covered with leather and mounted with very fine chased silver locket and chape. The silver mounts are proofmarked with stamped Tughra. Total length 22 inches. Very good condition. Age cracks on the grips but it holds very solid. The leather on the scabbard is a later replacement.
