Very Good Wootz Persian Shamshir Sword - 10540

This is a classical Persian Shamshir sword, late 18 – early 19 C. Curved blade of plain wedge cross section, forged from good high contrast wootz (Damascus, watered) steel. White metal cross guard and antler grips with steel grip strap and pommel cap. Original wood scabbard with the original black leather cover stitched with spiral stitching. Steel belt rings with gold koftgari work. Blade 28 inches. Total 34 inches. Very good condition. Losses and small later repairs on the scabbard’s leather. Small damage to the scabbard tip |
