We are not sure with the origin of this unusual machete / knife, but the turned wood handle with brass wires and the decoration style on the blade suggest African origin, may be east Africa. The heavy blade with the edge on the convex side is 13 ½ inches long beautifully engraved with geometrical design. The handle is turned wood bound with brass wires. Total length 18 inches. Very good condition. Part of the pommel disk is chopped.
