Presentation Choora Dagger from the Khayber Pass - 10471


This Choora knife is a typical example coming from the Khayber pass area between India and Afghanistan. It is from the mid 20 century and was presented to one Peter Wileey. The blade is 9 inches long with the a pronounced “T” back and reinforced edge. The grips are made of four sectors of bone and horn riveted to the tang with four rivets. The bolster and the hilt strap are engraved white metal. The scabbard is covered with chased brass and signed: TO PETER WILEEY WITH GRATITUDE FROM SHAID. Total length in scabbard 13 1/2 inches.
