This fine Jambiya dagger is Yemeni, early 20 C., one of the best exemplars of this style. The curved double edge blade with a pronounced central rib is 8 inches long, very well forged. The rhino horn handle with excellent shining dark age patina is mounted with silver mounts and with unusual nielloed silver pommel cap. Leather covered scabbard. Total length 13 inches. Very good plus condition. Although it looks as if made yesterday, it is definitely and old and authentic piece, never been in use. Probably purchased as new item in the very early years of the 20 C. and was in a private collection since then. A very impressive piece.
