The Pata Indian gauntlet Sword that was evolved from the Kattar push dagger and was in use during several centuries in India.
This one is probably mid 18 C. with a 32 inches double edge blade with a short central fuller and very flexible, probably of European origin. The hand gauntlet is made of engraved steel covered with silver plating (now mostly gone). Wood scabbard with original velvet cover and silver tip. Total length 43 inches. Very good condition. Losses to the silver plating. The scabbard tip and silver trim are later. A rare unique and impressive item.
