This fine Kattar push dagger is coming from North India, late 18 C. Massive blade with armor piercing tip, 8 ½ inches long 3 inches wide, forged from very fine wootz steel, and with finely chiseled elephants on both faces. Wide handle 3 ½ inches wide. Total length 16 inches. Very good condition. Very minor blackened spots on the blade and very minor edge nicks. Faint traces of gold koftgari decoration on the cross bars. As common with similar kattar, only the wide fuller is etched to show the wootz pattern where the edges are left polished.
