Up for sale is this fine Koumaya Dagger from Morocco dated to 1305 (1887 in the Gregorian calendar). Classical blade, 9 ½ inches long, double edged at its lower half and single edged at the top. The handle is carved from a single massive piece of Rhino horn with a very clear fibrous structure. The pommel head is chased silver as well as the grip collars and scabbard, marked with the local silver proof mark and dated to 1305. The scabbard comes with its original green cotton baldric hanging rope and the handle is partially covered with red cotton rope. Total length 16 inches. Very good condition. The silver pommel has few small cracks.
