Rare Dagger from the Island of Crete - 10433


This is a small but very good and typical example of the knife from the island of Crete in the Mediterranean. The 6 inches blade is single edge marked ka (??), mounted with bone grips widening toward the pommel in a form of split ears. A small tweezers are inserted in the hilt from the pommel side. The bolster and grip strap are engraved pewter. Wood scabbard covered with green leather finely stitched with brass wire. Total length in scabbard 10 ½ inches. Very good condition. Small crack in the blade. Small chips on the pommel. All parts original and in excellent shape. No replacements or restorations.
