Very Rare Battak Knife Lopah Petawaran , Sumatra - 10426

This Rare knife also known as Lopah Petawaran is coming from Sumatra, mostly in use by the Battak and sometimes the Ache people. It is an early form and the later common rentong knife was probably derived from it. Single edge blade 7 inches long with long steel bolster bound with a gold ring. Horn handle of very peculiar sharply uprising tip. Silver covered scabbard. Total length 12 ½ inches. Very good condition. Minor blackened spots on the blade and minor dents and cracks to the silver cover of the scabbard. |
