Very Good Balkan Miquelet Gun for the Moroccan Market - 10347

An early 19 Century Balkan, probably Albanian Miquelet gun made for the North African market. The barrel with a flared muzzle is 43 inches long, marked with a maker mark. The miquelet lock in perfectly working order with a very strong main spring. The stock is heavily decorated with finely engraved steel panels and the butt is a block of walrus ivory and set with strips of ivory and wood separators. Total Length 55 inches. Very good conditions. Blackened spots on the barrel. Minor losses to the stock wood and the steel panels. Similar guns are shown in R.
