This type of daggers are Ottoman, 17 C. or may be earlier. The short curved blade is 6 ½ inches, forged from high quality wootz (Damascusm watered) steel. Walrus ivory single piece grip. Wood scabbard with red silk cover and gilded copper mounts. Total length 12 ½ inches. Very good condition. Minor chip on the ivory handle. The silk cover is a later replacement. A rare dagger.
