A typical knife from Bosnia & Herzegovina, from the very short period of independence before the annexation to the Austro-Hungarian Empire at the end of the 19th C. The blade is straight, single edge, 11 inches long and signed with a maker mark in the shape of a small sword. The grips are bone with flared pommel, set with brass and red and black inserts in a typical Balkan style of decoration. Total length 16 inches (quite long, compared to 10-12 inches more common similar knives. Very good condition.
