Sword (?) of the Naga - 5968

This type of weapon is very unusual and I hesitate to call it a sword. It is coming from the Assam area in North-East India and it is a common side area to various tribes of the Naga people residing in this area. A very similar item is drawn in: P. S. Rawson, The Indian Sword fig 46, related to the Kuki tribes. The blade is down curving, 12 ½ inches long and the handle is cast brass. Total length 16 ½ inches. Hair tuft on the pommel. Good condition.
