Rare “Fakir Horns” Dagger India - 10277


The Fakir Horns were usually a non metal weapon and an excellent and lethal substitute, used by Indian Fakirs who were not allowed to use real steel. It is composed of a pair of antelope horns with sharpened tips connected in the middle and, yet in some rare cases like this one, the horn tips are set with steel blades, 2 inches long each, in steel sockets. Total length 187 ˝ inches tip to tip. Very good condition. Good age patina on the horn and the blades. This is an authentic and rare form of Indian weapon. Probably early 19 C. or earlier.
