This very fine Khyber sword is early 19 C, probably from north India. Very fine blade 14 inches long forged from high contrast wootz (Watered) steel. Steel bolsters and grip strap. The blade the bolsters and the gripo strap are lavishly decorated with gold inlay (koftgari) work. Ivory grips. Total length 19 inches. Very good plus condition with minor losses of the gold inlay on the pommel side. The blade is forged from two wootz ingots forge welded together.
