The Songye people reside in central Zaire and are known to be masters in metal work. Men of the Songye families carry an axe made in a very interesting blacksmith work in iron. Here is such a very good example. 7 x 8 inches blade and 16 inches wood haft entirely covered with copper. Very good condition.
