Fine Early Moro Kris Sword with Twisted Steel Blade - 10249


This Moro Kris is an early version, probably late 18 to early 19 C. The fine blade is forged from twisted steel core, forge welded between high carbon steel hard edges, emphasized by a inlaid silver borders. Blade length 22 inches wavy at its top and straight on its lower half. One brass clamp is reinforcing the blade in the handle. The wood grip is covered with braided fibers covered with black lacquer. Cockatoo style pommel. Total length 27 inches. Very good condition. Fine age patina on the entire blade and handle. Minor wood chip on the pommel tip. No scabbard.
