This Khanjar dagger is Persian, late Qajar period, mid 19 C. The wavy blade is forged from good Wootz (Damascus, watered) steel with reinforced edges and thickened tip for armor piercing. The blade is inlayed (true inlay) with gold inscription in Arabic letters on both faces. Whole steel grip chiseled with human faces, hunting scenes, birds and flowers in a classical Qajar style. Blade length 12 ½ inches. Total length 19 inches. Very good condition.
