A typical fine dagger from Bosnia & Herzegovina, from the very short period of independence before the annexation to the Austro-Hungarian Empire at the end of the 19th C. The blade is straight, double edged, 9 1/2 inches long finely decorated with gold and silver koftgari inlay decoration. . The grips are bone dyed in green color and set with brass nails and inserts in a typical Balkan style of decoration. Total length 13 1/2 inches. Very good condition. One of the pommel ears is damaged. No scabbard.
