Old Arab Sword, Zanzibar / Yemen - 10151

A very unusual and interesting Arab sword. It reminds the famous Moroccan “NIMCHA” but although the hilt style is similar, this sword is coming from Yemen, and it is believed to be produced in the island of Zanzibar in the 19th C. The single edge blade is 30 1/2 inches long with three fullers, most probably a European trade blade. The grip is cut and shaped from a solid black horn. The special design of the hilt is typical to swords produced in Zanzibar, and has a big steel ring forged in one piece with the cross guard and the “D” guard. Total length 36 inches. Good condition. Original age patina on the blade. This is a real fighting sword and from exotic part of the world. Very Low Price
