Authentic Toko War Club from the Fiji Island - 10112

Up for sale is this 19 Century war club from the Fiji island, also known locally as Toko, and in the tribal collectors world as Pinapple Club. The 38 inches long, heavy club is carved from dark hardwood, usually taken from the root of the tree. The head is perpendicular to the handle and is carved with lines of sharp "thorns" or teethes all around, ending with a conical spike. Good condition. Shining age patina. Worn and few missing "thorns" on the head and the tip of the spike is slightly chipped. Age cracks on the handle but holds very solid. A real piece for the connoisseur of Ethnographic/Tribal artifact and the weapon collector. For a similar one, see: G.C. Stone, Glossary... Page 184 fig 232 # 10.
