This War club is coming from West Africa, Mali or Burkina Paso. It is 35 1/2 inches long with a 6 1/2 inches head carved like a styled human face. The carving suggests that this club was also used as a scepter for a high ranking person. The carving is similar to those found on clubs and swords of the Dogon people living in the area. Very good condition. Excellent shining age patina.
