A typical knife from Bosnia & Herzegovina, from the very short period of independence before the annexation to the Austro-Hungarian Empire at the end of the 19th C. The blade is straight, single edge, 5 inches long, inlaid with silver inscription SARAJEVO 93 . The grips are green dyed ivory, set with brass nails and inserts in a typical balkan style of decoration. The scabbard is wood covered with thin chased brass. Total length 10 inches. Very good condition. Minor losses to the silver inlay. Dents on the scabbard.
