Short Sword from Bhutan Naga - 6008

A rare short sword from Bhutan. These type of sword are characterized by the good, heavy, single edge hollow ground blade and the open side scabbard. The blade here is almost 16 inches long, the grip is wood bound with silver wires and silver collar. The wood scabbard is open and the sword is held in position by two chased brass bands. Total length 23 inches. Good condition. The exposed side of the blade is naturally more worn than the covered side and has lost its polish with very minor blackened spots and pitted areas. A small piece of wood is chopped from the scabbard near the tip of the blade recess. A good item not so commonly found on the market.
