This Billao dagger is late 19 Century and comes from the coastal people of Somalia. It has a classical non-symmetrical leaf shape blade, 9 inches long, 2 1/2 inches wide. The handle is made of two sections of horn separated by layers of metal . The pommel is of a typical three pronged shape made of steel as well. Original hide scabbard with belt. Good condition. Blackened areas and pitted spots on the blade. Scabbard seams open.
