From our private collection we offer for sale this fine Khanjar dagger, Persian, Qajar period, 1850 or about. Curved blade with central rib and edge reinforcement on half of the blade length. The base of the blade is finely chiseled with an image of a tiger (?) attacking an antelope (Classical Persian Qajar Motive). Whole steel handle with gold koftgari decoration. Both the blade and the handle are forged from fine high quality Wootz (Damascus, Watered) steel of high contrast pattern. Blade length 11 inches. Total length 16 inches. Very good condition. Losses to the gold work on the handle. No scabbard.
