This fine Khanjar is Persian, Qajar period, mid 19 C. or a bit later. Although it is not of lesser quality a great effort was made to forge the blade and etch it in a beautiful pattern in an attempt to imitate wootz steel. Curved blade with central rib and back spine on half of the edge. Classical Qajar etched design on the blade and the handle. Total length 16 inches. Very good condition. No scabbard.
