This Saif is a very rare version of Arab sword from the South Arabian Peninsula. This is a very fine heavy sword, with a 29 inches long 1 1/2 inches wide, single edge blade. It has a beautifully decorated silver hilt and cross guard of a typical form reminding in a way the hilt of the Moroccan Nimcha sword. The scabbard is wood entirely covered with finely engraved silver. Total length 36 inches. Very good condition. A very fine mid 19 C. sword.
