This is a rare and original 18 C. steel ingot from India, made of wootz, already partially forged to a long ingot shape, ready to be traded and forged into a wootz blade. 515 Grams weight, 6 inches long, 2-3 inches wide and 8 mm thick. Actually it is half of the original ingot, and was cut probably to make a long dagger or a similar blade. One face of the ingot was partially polished and etched to show the clear wootz structure. Unique piece for the weapon collector, steel researcher or blade smith expert.
