This yataghan sword has a very fine pattern welded blade in the patternknown as Turkish Ribbon. The blade is 24 inches long, signed with a maker mark. The grips and bolsters are engraved and nielloed silver. The base of the spine is covered with a silver strip with inscription in Arabic letters and the date 1221 ( 1806 in the Gregorian calendar). Total length 29 1/2 inches. Very good condition. Cracks and dents on the grips and bolsters. This sword comes with its original scabbard (not shown), unfortunately badly damaged.
