This Shamshir sword is Turkish, late 18 to early 19C. Very fine wootz (Damascus, watered) blade of high contrast very clear pattern, 31 inches long. Rhino horns grips with steel grip strap and cross guard. Leather covered scabbard with spiral stitching and steel mounts. The steel mounts are decorated with gold koftgari work. Total length 37 inches. Very good condition. Minor losses to the leather cover of the scabbard. The locket is restored.
