Very Good, Early, Hooded Kattar Push Dagger - 9784


A very old version of the famous Indian Kattar (Katar) push dagger. A development stage between the Pata, the long gauntlet sword and the Kattar, the short push dagger. Early blade, 18 C. or earlier, 16 inches long multifullered. It is riveted to the handle with two reinforcing plates finely chiseled. The handle is protected with a steel hood decorated also finely chiseled and terminating in a styled monster head shaped tip. 22 inches total length. Very good condition. Shallow rust on the inner side of the hood.
