This Yataghan has a very unusual handle with big grips and long pommel ears beautifully decorated with filigree silver rosettes set with coral stones. The blade is engraved with Arabic letters and deeply marked with a maker stamp and dated to 1198 (1784 in the Gregorian calendar). Ivory grips with filigree silver grip strap set with ribbed coral stones. Leather covered scabbard with big filigree silver mounts also set with corals. Blade length 23 inches. Total length 32 1/2 inches. Very good condition.
