Very Good Omani Khanjar / Jambiya Dagger with Rhino Horn Hilt - 9706


A very good Arab Khnjar / Jambiya dagger, late 19 to early 20 C., from Oman. It has an 8 inches curved and dual edge very well forged blade with a pronounced central rib. The grip is rhino horn decorated with many silver nails on its front side and mounted with filigree silver collar. The scabbard is “L” shaped covered with leather elaborately embroidered with silver strips and wires, and mounted with chased filigree silver locket en suite with the hilt mounts. The belt attachment is made of complicate arrangements of silver rings and twisted silver wire. Total length is 12 1/2 inches. Very good condition. Minor horn chips on the handle.
