Good Silver Mounted Jambiya Dagger from the Hijaz, Arabia - 9700


This type of long Jambiya dagger is common in the Western regions of Arabia, Hijaz and Asir. Sometimes it is referred to by collectors as Wahabite style. The blade is 15 inches long and plain. The handle is made of horn grips richly decorated with filigree silver mounts set with a red stone. The scabbard is silver also richly decorated with filigree work and set with red colored stone (glass ??). This dagger comes with its original decorated leather belt Total length 21 inches.
