This type of short sword is believed to come from the shores of the black see, north Turkey, Trabzon region. It is mid to late 19 C. with a finely forged multi-fullered blade17 inches long with engraved inscription in Arabic letters. Horn grips decorated with white metal nails. Original scabbard with spiral stitched seam and chased white metal mounts. Total length 24 inches. Very good plus condition.
