Up for sale is this early Balkan Yataghan, 18 C, dated to 1194 (1780 in the Gregorian Calendar). The blade is 21 inches long with silver inlay (true inlay) of inscription in Arabic letters, decoration and dating. Very interesting is the styled sword image inlaid in silver. Classical handle with walrus ivory grips and big eared pommel. Gilded silver bolsters and grip strap with granulation work and with coral stones. Total length 26 inches. Very good condition. Minor losses to the silver inlay. The left grip is cracked (as common in these swords)
