This axe is Persian, from the late Qajar period, second half of the 19 C. The blade is forged from high quality steel (with clear ring tone when knocked), 7 1/2 inches long, 4 1/2 inches tall each side, finely chiseled with floral design. The central tubular steel haft is 27 inches long ending with a 4 inches spike. Total length 34 inches. Very good condition.
