This very good Balkan yataghan is dated to 1294 (1877 in the Gregorian calendar). The classical down curving blade is decorated with silver koftgari work, Arabic inscription and the date. It is deeply stamped with a crisp maker mark. Steel bolsters and grip strap and walrus grip. Blade length 22, total length 27 1/2 inches. Very good condition. Right grip cracked but hold firm. The pommel ear of the left grip is an old replacement. No scabbard.
