This type of Throwing knife is coming from the south east regions of present Sudan. Most probably used by the Ingessana tribes, although found in neighboring tribes and as far west as the Fung people in Cameroon. This one is an early to mid 20 C. item, very well made and nicely decorated. The upper S re-curving blade is 11 inches long. The side cross bar is 4 inches long. |The long handle is covered with leather. The entire length of the knife is engraved with geometrical style decoration. Total length 26 inches. Very good condition. A rare version of the African throwing knife.
