Double Blade Bichwa (Scorpion) Dagger, India - 9617


This dagger is a Double Blade Bichwa, a rare weapon in the Indian arsenal, meaning: ‘The Scorpion Sting’. It is probably 19 Century. The blades are double edged, re-curving, 8 1/2 inches long, with a flat diamond cross section and slightly swollen tips. The hilt is brass ring shaped, riveted to the top of the blades. Original wood scabbard with red velvet cover. Total length 13 inches. Very good condition. Minor damage and losses to the scabbard. This item is offered here at a reasonable price considering its rarity and age.
