This very fine Indian sword is employing a classical Persian Shamshir blade, single edge, wedge cross section and deeply curved. It is forged from Wootz (Damascus, watered) steel of fine pattern. There are traces of early maker mark on the blade, previously inlaid with gold. The handle is steel richly inlaid with gold decoration. Blade length 29 inches. Total length 34 inches. Very good condition. Minor losses to the gold inlay on the handle. No scabbard
