Very Good Early Kattar from Bundi, India - 9595

This Kattar push dagger is probably 18 C. and coming from Bundi in Rajasthan, India. The triangular blade is of diamond cross section with elephant and tigers chiseled on it. An elephant head image is also chiseled on both sides of the blade base, which is quite characteristic to Bundi Kattars. Blade length 8 1/2 inches. Very interesting is the thickest point of the blade is close to its base and not to the tip as found in many armor piercing Kattars. Original scabbard with compartment for three additional accessories (missing here). Total length 17 1/2 inches. Very good condition. The silver tip of the scabbard is newly made. |
