Sword of the KOMO, Zaire, Very Rare - 5962

This sword of the KOMO people of Zaire is coming right out of one of the best collection of African blades I ever seen. Only items of top quality and best condition. Just look on the blade forging compared to the usual African blades you see on the market. The blade is 14 ½ inches long blade, sweling to 4 inches wide at maximum width. All the line seen on the blade are decoration lines and NOT sharpening attempts. Wood hilt bound with copper strip and seven sided pyramid shaped pommel partially set with brass tacks. Very good condition, minor damages to the edges. For a similar example of this rare sword, please see: Peter Westerdijk, Ejsenwerk van Centrall Afrika, p89 fig. 9 A Very Rare Sword, for you – the connoisseur collector of African blades.
