A good Arab Jambiya dagger, early to mid 20 C., from Oman. It has 7 inches curved and dual edge blade with a pronounced central rib. The blade is older, 19 C. probably removed from an earlier Jambiya. The hilt is horn covered silver front panel and mounted with chased silver collar and gilded silver strips. The scabbard is “L” shaped covered with leather elaborately embroidered with silver strips and wires, and mounted with chase silver locket en suite with the hilt mounts. The belt attachment is made of complicate arrangements of silver rings and twisted silver wire. Total length is 12 inches. Original silver / gold brocade belt. Very good condition
