This is a classical example of the famous Khyber sword coming from Afghanistan. The heavy massive blade is 19 inches long, 2 inches wide with a pronounced T spine. The bolsters and grips straps are engraved brass. The grips are ribbed horn with good age patina, Original scabbard covered with tooled leather and steel chape. The upper part is bound with red colored thread. Total length 29 inches. Very good condition. Minor losses to the leather cover. Like in the classical swords of this type, the blade goes all the way into the scabbard and only the upper part of the handle is exposed. Very impressive sword.
