Good Omani "Saidi" Jambiya Dagger - 9541

A good Arab Jambiya dagger, early 20 C. from Oman, in the royal style known as Al-Bu-Said, or Saidi style. It has 7 inches curved and dual edge blade with a pronounced central rib. The hilt is entirely covered with thin silver foil decorated with many small silver filigree pieces. The scabbard is “L” shaped covered with fabric and mounted with filigree silver locket and chape. The belt attachment is made of complicate arrangements of silver rings and twisted silver wire. The total length is 12 1/2 inches. Good condition. Minor pitted spots on the blade and worn fabric cover. |
